Dedicated Alzheimer's Unit

Vernon Manor is the site of a 28 bed-wing specifically designed for people with Alzheimer's.

The unit features an environment that seeks to help the client maintain dignity and function at the highest level for as long as possible.

While highly secure, the Alzheimer's Unit uses passive security devices such as magnetic door locks and an enclosed private patio lessening the need for physical or chemical restraints.

The daily program is specifically created to meet the varied and changing needs of clients. A typical day offers a wide and flexible schedule that includes: ADL's interactive activities that stimulate sensory skills, memory and feeling; massage therapy; art; music; and exercise programs.

Short Term Respite Care

Vernon Manor and Manchester Manor provide short-term respite care when adult care givers go on vacation, or must be out of town for any reason.

Respite care clients can take advantage of all the Manor's diverse services, including meals, recreational and social activities that range from art, music, exercise programs and social gatherings.
