Dining

Proper nutrition is vital for quality of life and for recovery. The Vernon Manor Dietitians play an important role in the heath and wellbeing of our residents by performing nutritional assessments, and developing and implementing nutritional care plans for each resident and their unique needs.

Working closely with the clinical team to adjust care plans as needed and to achieve positive outcomes, our Dietitians have years of healthcare experience and have served as clinical dietetic instructors at the University of Connecticut. With extensive experience in education, Vernon Manor Dietitians have the most current nutrition knowledge to share with staff and residents, ensuring good nutrition and proper healing for all residents.

Working in conjunction with the Food service Director and dietary staff, our dietitians provide nourishing meals, snacks, and supplements for every resident. The Food Service Director ensures that patient nutritional needs are met by providing a well-balanced menu.

Our Dietary staff are adept at handling all types of diets for every type of patient and resident, including therapeutic restrictions and modified consistencies. Vernon Manor’s Dining offers a weekly and an alternate menu to give residents a variety of menu options. Our staff is driven to achieve the highest patient satisfaction with all dishes and baked goods made form scratch. The effort and attention to detail that our staff puts into each meal is tasted and enjoyed by our residents.
