Paul T. Liistro
Paul T. Liistro is Managing Partner of Arbors of Hop Brook Continuing Care Retirement Community in Manchester, CT; Vernon Manor Health Care Center in Manchester, CT; and Vernon Manor Health Care Center in Vernon, CT.
Mr. Liistro is a senior business executive with extensive long-term care and senior care services experience. He has experience in leadership roles within numerous leading health care industry organizations. Mr. Liistro is Immediate Past Chair, Board of Directors for Qualidigm, Quality Improvement Organization for Connecticut; previous Representative at-large, Board of Governors for the American Health Care Association (AHCA) based in Washington, D.C. (2011-2015); and is a member of the Board of Directors for Ann Arbor, Michigan-based HealthCap Liability Insurance Company. He is also immediate Past President of the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Association of Health Care Facilities (CAHCF; 2010-2014). Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHCA), the Association of Long-Term Care Financial Managers (ALTCFM) and served on the board of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC).
Mr. Liistro earned his B.A. in Economics from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME and obtained his M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia PA.
Kristi C. Dougherty, R.N., B.S.N., M.S.M., M.B.A.
Kristi C. Dougherty R.N., B.S.N., M.S.M., M.B.A. is the Administrator at Vernon Manor Health Care Center. Dougherty is a dedicated Registered Nurse with over 25 years of experience in providing quality resident-centered care in both assisted living and long-term care settings. Prior to her role as Administrator at Vernon Manor, Dougherty was Director of Nursing at Vernon Manor for seven years.
Prior to her experience at Vernon Manor, Dougherty held positions as Director of Nursing for a variety of Health Centers across Connecticut, most recently at WILLCARE Patient’s Choice Home Health Agency and Brookdale Senior Living.
Dougherty’s early career included a position at Trinity Health Care as a supervisor and MDS clinical coordinator. Dougherty earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland and continued her education at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, CT where she obtained her Masters of Science in Management (MSM) and a Master’s of Science in Business Administration (MBA).
Raquel F. Hyman, RN, BSN, BS
Director of Nursing
Registered Nurse with over 9 years of clinical experience in long-term care at Vernon Manor. Employed in 2010 as CNA, and has since served in roles as a LPN charge nurse, and most recently Wound care nurse at Vernon Manor. Earned Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Management (BS) from the University of Technology, Jamaica and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Capella University. Certified in Wound Care and Infection Control.
Director of Environmental Services
Patrick has worked for the company since 2007.He has worked for all 3 facilities. Patrick began at The Arbors Assisted Living Facility,then on to Manchester Manor and now Vernon Manor. He has been in environmental services for over 20 years. Patrick enjoys managing the physical plant and life safety aspect of the facility with the implementation of technology that assists with compliance and efficiency as well as interacting with the residents and staff.
Director of Food Services
Christina graduated from Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts. During my 4 years of college, I started my care working as a Dietary Aide at a Skilled Nursing Facility. After a few years of doing that I was promoted to the 1st cook. During that role I worked side by side with my boss and learned the ins and out of that particular position. In 2015, I became the Food Service Director. After 13 years at that building, I then became a traveling FSD where I would fill in temporarily for buildings throughout CT. That is how I ended up at Vernon Manor and knew I wanted to become part of the team permanently. I have been here since 2018 and am committed to providing quality of food services to the residents. I enjoy special events and discussions with the residents during our food committees to ensure I am meeting their expectations.
Tanya L. Ellingwood, LMSW
Director of Social Services
Tanya L. Ellingwood, is the Director of Social Services at Vernon Manor Health Care Center. Tanya has been the Director since 2005. Tanya holds a Master’s Degree from UCONN’s School of Social Work where she completed her degree in an accelerated manner in 1 year, attending Eastern Connecticut State University holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work as well. Tanya completed her internship at Vernon Manor in 2004 with Vernon Manor hiring her directly from that Internship to her current position. During her years at Eastern Connecticut State University Tanya was a social worker at the Youth Service Bureau in Vernon, CT working at the High School and Elementary levels as well as spending time at the Alternative Incarceration Center in Willimantic, CT. Tanya has a deep passion with supporting the residents psychosocial conditions with connecting to available resources for long term stay or discharge planning.
Director of Administrative Services
Rebecca Huri is the Director of Administrative Services at Vernon Manor Health Care Center. Rebecca is a dedicated employee with over 19 years of experience at the company. Prior to her role as Director of Administrative Services, Rebecca worked in the nursing department as the nursing staffing coordinator for several years. Rebecca also worked for years in the Admissions department and the Administrative Assistant role, assisting in several large projects to include the Rebecca received her Bachelor’s Degree at Eastern Connecticut State University.
Director of Admissions
Ann has over 25 years of experience with a demonstrated history of working in the healthcare industry. Her exemplary relationships with hospitals, physicians, other healthcare professionals and our senior community has proven her success in this industry. Ann began her career in the 80’s as a nursery school teacher, then worked at the Rocky Hill High School in the Special Education Department running the work study job program. Ann then took on her own adventure in opening up 3 video stores and a consignment shop which she owned and operated successfully.Ann enjoys spending every free moment with her children and grandsons.
As an Activity Director with more than 16 years of experience, Sue creates meaningful and unique programs for Seniors with various interests and backgrounds. Skilled at creating fun and interactive programs, themed special events, enjoyable out-trips, and family appreciation events. With a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Southern CT State University, Sue combines knowledge with experience to maximize resident’s healthy lifestyle and social engagement.
Previously, she worked in an Assisted Living Community at The Hearth at Glastonbury, CT. providing specialty programs for Seniors in AL setting as well as the Memory care community for Seniors with Dementia. She has 10 years’ experience as a Director of Therapeutic Recreation, managing and mentoring staff.
